The Summer Learning Challenge is back!

All 31 public libraries in San Mateo County, from Brisbane to East Palo Alto, are challenging you to read books, explore new activities, and learn new skills all summer long. Our Summer Learning Challenge provides a fun and free way for all ages to avoid the summer slide and keep discovering, growing, and learning even when school is out. Participants receive a free book just for signing up and will be eligible to enter a weekly raffle to win prizes, such as museum passes, tickets to sporting events, and gift cards. Youth participants that complete a reading log or show their online badges can enter a drawing to win a $1,000 college scholarship among other cool prizes.

To sign up, you can either pick up a reading log at any  public library or the Bookmobile or register online following these easy steps:

  1. Visit our much improved and user friendly website: summerlearners.org
  2. Register yourself and your family on one account
  3. Log your progress online and earn badges
  4. Enjoy new online perks
    • Receive personalized reading recommendations based on your interests
    • See what your peers think of different books
    • Submit your own written or picture-based book reviews

Don't forget to visit our libraries often to attend the exciting activities, performances, and events we have lined up this summer! Read more about this year's Summer Learning Challenge in our blog.
